Throughout the celebrations of the AF1, Nike has been touching on some of the cities and regions which have helped to cement this shoe into the fashion zeitgeist over the last forty years; one such place is Los Angeles. Although it’s usually the East Coast that gets the props for the AF1’s success, It’s truly an effort on all fronts.The ‘Racer Blue’ canvas used for the uppers on this pair is pretty close to the signature hue of the LA Dodgers if you ask us. Additionally the shoes are covered in an array of patches which call out iconic LA places, Styles and moments. At various points the patches cross over panel seams and there’s even a bunch that are laid over the Swoosh itself. Given that they’re legit patches.Not just a print.Nike has throw a few tactical stitches to prevent anything coming loose with wear.Definitely one of the most unique AF1 treatments we’ve seen in a while and a fitting tribute to the vibrant, Creative city that inspired them!
